Health data analysing tool
UX/UI

As a UX/UI designer for a health and care platform I took the main role in the redesign project of an analysis tool that helps big health organizations improve the quality of care and make evidence based decisions.
Process:
UX research by conducting interviews/contextual inquiries as well as surveys in order to gain an understanding of the common issues and needs of the users.
Summarizing user research data, creating user stereoptypes and documenting user stories
Sketching many ideas on pen and paper
Simple prototypes in lo-fi sketching software (Confluence whiteboard)
Moving into Adobe Xd to further work on the prototype with many different ideas prototyped while getting feedback from both designers and users as I progressed and came up with new ideas.
Key findings from UX research:
You can cateogirze the users in three different types
Coordinator.
Uses the tool the most, creates analyses a few times per week.
Works for the whole organization and does not have a specified unit
Unit manager
Uses the tool now and then to check the status of the unit
Has interest only in their own unit and it's performace as well as selected patients in the unit
Unit supervisor
Rarely uses the tool, and therefore has less knowledge of using the tool
Has interest in their own unit and how it compares to other units
The most common issues with the current version
Difficult to know how the tool works and how to make the analyses to respond to what result the users want
Difficulties understanding the result numbers and percentages when they are presented, therefore some also see the result as unreliable
Time consuming for one of the most common flows of checking many different analyses for a certain time period and unit selection. Currently users have to click many times in order to select the unit choice and they ahve to do it every time they open an analysis
